Welcome to Prestbury Methodist Church

Methodist Church

Prestbury Methodist Church was built to replace the former Methodist Chapel. The move took place in 2001.

Village Hall

The Church shares a driveway with the Village Hall, which had been built as a school in 1876. The school is now in Bollin Grove

Prestbury Church is part of the worldwide Methodist Church which has grown from its initial roots that were laid down in the eighteenth century through the dedicated work of a number of evangelists, most notably John and Charles Wesley. Today's church may outwardly seem very different from the early days of open-air meetings held by travelling preachers, but the original emphases of Methodism are still very evident in the 'Calling Priorities' of the Methodist Church today.

CALLING PRIORITIES

The calling of the Methodist Church is to respond to the Gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission.

Inspired by Our Calling, we aim:

-to increase awareness of God’s presence and to celebrate God’s love

-to help people to grow and learn as Christians through mutual support and care

-to be a good neighbour to people in need and to challenge injustice

-to make more followers of Jesus Christ
